Been coming to this park for quite some time..While the owners can be rough around the edges if you treat them with respect all runs well.
Wifi is available but only near the front office ( not there to sit on internet anyways).
Looks they have some rough reviews but I have never had a problem when visiting.
Beware of SHADYoaks electrical service. Was told had 50 amp service breaker , blew in middle of the night, went to office that morning tried to reset and smoke was rolling out of electrical box. Then he tried blaming it on NYSEG after changing breakers and trying to rewire. It ended up melting my surge protector and shorted out transfer switch causing 500$ in damage to my camper. Town of Plattsburgh or NYSEG needs to investigate this place. Definitely SHADY oaks name says it all
Great experience the kids love it. Very clean and quiet. Play ground and pool were great for the family. Other guests are very friendly.
I will continue to visit & recommend.
The park has large lots and mature trees. Quiet and relaxing. Other campers are friendly. Close to lake and not to far from town.
I enjoy camping at Shady Oaks and so do my family. Wouldn't camp anywhere else while shopping in Plattsburgh, NY. It's very close to Lake Champlain where the public beach is.
You can't believe everything you read on the Internet. Both Bob & Louise were very nice, helpful, informative and flexible. Always ready to answer questions and we had plenty. Never experienced any problem with electric, sewer or water. If you prefer to go RVing in a resort, this is probably not the place for you. We enjoy camping (w/the comforts of an RV) and Shady Oaks made for a relaxing stay.
