This time, I initially went to Travis as well as another local lender. Travis offered a rate the other lender couldn't. He was also much better with customer service. Every time I needed to talk with him he either answered the phone right away, or very promptly returned my call. The other place would ignore me for days. There was also a couple things with my personal situation that concerned me. With Travis, I felt confident that everything would work out (as it did), which is also the complete opposite of how it felt dealing with the other lender.

I moved from San Diego California to Syracuse New York in February 2015 because I wanted to retire and live around family members. Prior to moving, I wanted to start my search way ahead of time, about a year out. Travis contacted me via email and then via phone to see what I was looking for and explain the process. It was way too early to apply for a loan but Travis conducted checks into obtaining a VA loan for me and gave me a ball park figure to work with based on my planned retirement income. As the move date got closer, Travis re-contacted me to see if I was still looking to buy a home. He got me pre-approval for a VA loan at the amount I was looking for which allowed me to conduct all the business I needed to search and make offers on a home. He stuck with me through the whole process and I am now living in my house, probably the last house I will buy, in Jamesville, New York, overlooking the lake. Travis stuck with me for over a year. I had talked to other loan officers that contacted me but none of them measured up to Travis' knowledge of loans, including VA loans, and his professionalism and honesty.
