On October 30, 2017, I arrived around 10 a.m. for my 11:00 flight to Sanford, Florida. When I went to the check in desk, I was told that there were no wheelchairs available. They were all in use. There were at least 3 other people behind me....a couple of people could hardly shuffle. Because It was a relatively short walk to security, I proceeded to walk. I stepped on the escalator and it was moving quickly. I dropped my phone over the side of the escalator, lost my balance and fell sideways down the escalator. If Deputy Sheriff Haag had not been nearby I do not know what would have happened to me. I could not right myself up and had whacked both of my knees, left shin bone, and right elbow. He helped to get me to my feet and we walked up the escalator steps together. At the top we met a lady coming along with two wheelchairs and we were able to get one of them. Why hadn’t the check in girls told us that wheelchairs were coming? Deputy Sheriff Haag had to go to the Honor Flight room and get extra wheelchairs.....this airport has been the recipient of millions of dollars in grant money and they don’t have enough wheel chairs??? Many, many of the people using this airline are Snowbirds. We are old and need a lot of help getting around. Ordinarily I would have been carrying LeRoi my cat. A friend was carrying him. I am realizing how lucky I was that I did not hit my head or break a bone .....I feel that I should have been told to have a seat and that someone would come and escort me through security and to my gate, using the elevator.....I did not even hear about the elevator until after my fall. Really, you should be ashamed of yourselves and so should Allegiant Air Lines. If I had a choice, I would never use this airport again.
It is a pretty good choice for people that wants to travel from Montreal for cheap. It is small, but really good airport.
Very small but new and straightforward. Short lines for security checks, and plenty of parking right in front. Good rate parking $8/day. But downside is no restaurants around and in the airport. Vendor machines with drinks and cold sandwiches. Predominantly spirit cheap flights.
Great small airport and growing. Fast flights and short waits.
Small airport great for traveling to canada! Easy in and out ... however, no restaurant passed the gates.
