I have been going to Eye Care of the Adirondacks for several years now...both for visual exams and contact fitting. My children also have regular visits there. Everyone has always been very professional...some have better personalities than others of course. My most recent experience was a bit more critical. I sought help for severe pain, redness, swelling rt eye. I admit I was forewarned by several people to go elsewhere ...they each had their own horror stories to tell. But since I was an established patient...I took my chances. It ended up that I had infected ulcerations in the cornea. They actually told me that I probably would have lost my sight if I had waited any longer to come in. So I had eye drops, weekly visits, several repeat exams..until everything possible was done. I do believe I did experience a slight loss of vision but because of my own carelessness with contacts. I had two doctors..the primary was a returning md...an elderly gent ..very friendly..willing to answer my questions. Another younger doctor filled in twice. On the first visit I found him to be friendly and very intelligent. On the last visit however...he made me feel stupid for coming in...like I was wasting his time. Definitely take the old guy.
Have been here for over an HR past my appointment time with a pce of glass in my eye and yes they know it. Hardly anyone has gone in and out. They definitely need someone to help them make their schedules. Maybe 1 person every hour is recommended for the future schedules.
I've been going to eye care for the adirondack for more years than I can count on my fingers and toes. My daughter had to have corrective surgery on her eye. I had no idea who to go to eye care was fairly new in the area and I took a chance. Been with them every since & watched as their business expanded & gathered new patients & doctors.
I have no reason not to like Eyecare For The Adirondacks. They have been in the area for several yrs . They have a great staff , very polite and helpful .
Uncaring and unprofessional. Still waiting for medical records to arrive at my husband's physician's office so we can see WHY he is now blind!
